Meet our Monster Market Vendors
We have just over a week before our very first Monster Market, and we couldn’t be more excited! On Oct. 30, 2021 from 12 to 5 p.m., we are meeting at the Bowness Community Association for local and family-friendly market featuring some amazing Calgary artisans. Round up the littles and get shoppin’ for a good cause - don’t forget to march the 3k walk that started it all, too. Funds from both events will be going to support the new Children’s Cottage Child and Family Centre. We have 40 vendors and we can’t wait for you to meet them! Read on to see some of the incredible people participating in such a wonderful cause.
Be Clothing Co. creates youth apparel that is meant to inspire. Owner Krista Niemann is a force in the Calgary community, always spreading joy and remaining present. She designed each for both the amazing person who is wearing it and for the people who read the kind words. As kids grow up, there tends to be a shift in how they are treated or how they treat others. The company looks to create a positive impact on the world by supporting others and creating a movement of change. Feel free to scout out some of their goods by visiting the shop link on their website.
Being a company that was created during COVID times, Lazy Bake has made huge strides in our local community through its online and market presence. Owner Katie Duffin found more and more time for one of her favourite hobbies—baking—during the lockdown and decided to turn it into a full-blown business. Now, she puts together an abundance of baking kits that can be used in any situation, whether it be at home or out in the great outdoors! She even has gluten-free options available, as well as cookies especially for mamas. Check out Lazy Bake’s full list of products here.
A small but mighty brand! Little Rituals Candle Co. has been featured at a number of local markets, always impressing with its soy candle and unique vessel options. The really cool part of this brand is its BYOV initiative—bring your own vessel—for all of you who need to brush up on the newest lingo. A focus on essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils means that they are safe for you and your littles! Follow the owner Michelle via the Little Rituals Instagram to keep up on the latest creations.
If you don’t already know about Earthkits, you’re going to want to! The brand is a nature-inspired sensory and tinker play kits designed to be earth-friendly and plastic-free (big kudos to them 👍🏼). Their products bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor play, giving children the best of both worlds. As you likely know, we are big fans of sensory play activities in our centres and we’re behind these little kits all the way! Check them out here to see what will be available on Oct. 30.
Truly, what’s better than a beautiful dried floral bouquet? They last longer than fresh flowers, look beautiful and bring so much joy to a home! Blooms Co. will be at our Monster Market supplying only the best in the biz. Gloria Downey, the owner of Blooms Co., also curates local gift boxes with again—only the best products. Can’t wait to see what they bring on Saturday! If you want to keep in touch, follow their Instagram here.
If you can’t tell already, we are EXCITED for our Monster Market, as there will be lots of fun and activities in store. If you own a small business or you know someone who does, vendor applications are still open. You can sign up here!
